Shlomo Mintz is one of the foremost violinists of our time with more than 55 years on stage. He’s in New Zealand not only as a violin soloist, but as a conductor and teacher working with the Christchurch and Dunedin Symphony Orchestras and giving a Masterclass at the New Zealand School of Music.
We explore his early years as a pupil of Ilona Fehér, Dorothy Delay and his great mentor, Isaac Stern and discuss the relationship between player and instrument.
Mintz frequently appears as a soloist in concerts for Violins of Hope, a project that aims to promote peace through music.
