José Luis Gomez is something of a musical phenomenon.
His initial musical training was in Venezuela’s El Sistema as a violinist. He decided to switch to conducting, and after only six months won First Prize at the International Sir Georg Solti Conductor’s Competition.

The Venezuelan-born conductor now has Spanish citizenship, and is music director of the Tucson Symphony in the USA.
