A public art museum in France has discovered that more than half of its collection consists of forgeries and experts fear that other public galleries may also have fallen victim to similar scams. Upbeat takes a look at famous fakes from the world of music or music mistakenly attributed to the wrong composer.

Laurence Dreyfus the director of Phantasm talks about how he has made his consort the best viol ensemble in the world. The group is in New Zealand at the moment, as part of a five-centre tour for Chamber Music New Zealand. Upbeat talks to its director and founder Laurence Dreyfus about how his period instrument ensemble can transport the listener to the exquisitely lush and delightful music of a bygone era.

The Jena Symphony was thought to be composed by Beethoven but is now known to be the work of Friedrich Witt who was born the same year as Beethoven. We hear they Symphony in C, Jena, played by Sinfonia Finlandia and conducted by Patrick Gallois.
