Drummer Chris O’Connor is one of the country’s busiest musicians. You have to be as a freelance artist with a family to support. Chris is an improvising free jazzer, and at the other end of the spectrum, for pop and rock bands; he also creates music for Dance. O’Connor shares some of his favourite music and tells Eva Radich about the joy he has as a live performer despite the schizophrenic lifestyle. This week his music features in the New Zealand Dance Company’s Lumina tour.
