2020 is an important milestone for the Auckland Town Hall Organ Trust - it's 10 years since the Klais organ was installed. Chair of the Trust, Kerry Stevens, says there were big plans for the celebrations, with concerts from the organist of Cologne Cathedral, an organ and percussion duo from Texas, and organists from Canada and Australia.

While Covid-19 has caused the cancellation of all overseas artists and two of the four international organ concerts planned for the year, birthday celebrations will still be going ahead.

On Sunday 9 August, there'll be cake, candles and bubbly and New Zealand organist Martin Setchell will present a special birthday recital. He was only available because all his overseas engagements were cancelled.

Kerry Stevens talks with David Morriss about the history of the organ.
