Wellington chamber choir Nota Bene is delighted to be giving concerts this Sunday despite Level 2 restrictions on gatherings.
Shawn Condon is a singing member of Nota Bene, but this time he steps up to direct the choir's concert Wonder and Light at St Mary of the Angels in Wellington.
Shawn is a native of New Jersey who lives in Wellington, tutors at Massey University while he also completes his PhD at a Finnish university.
Eva Radich spoke to Shawn about selecting appropriate music to lift the spirits in the middle of a pandemic.
But they began their conversation by tackling one of Shawn's pet subjects: the importance of encouraging singers to express the emotions behind the words.
