Young Dunedin-based soprano Rhiannon Cooper is appearing with two top international opera stars on Saturday.

The Dunedin Symphony Orchestra is “Celebrating 2021!” for its season-opening concert, and along with City Choir Dunedin will be joined by two of New Zealand’s most exceptional operatic talents: Anna Leese and Simon O’Neill. Kenneth Young, now resident in Dunedin, will be conducting.

Rhiannon says that it’s equal parts excitement and fear to be in such company, and comments that both Anna and Simon are wonderfully kind and generous colleagues.

Rhiannon is preparing to study for her Masters at Otago University, having completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours there.
