February 22 2021 is the 10th anniversary of the devastating Christchurch earthquake that took the lives of 185 people and caused widespread destruction.
As a commemoration, a new video and digital single has been released: From the Rubble (2021 tribute) features composer and pianist Kris Baines and NZSO principal cello Andrew Joyce.
These days, Kris Baines is based in Auckland – he’s pastor of Wellsford Community Bible Church, and with his family runs Eternal Purpose Ministries. But in 2011, Kris was working as a paramedic in Christchurch.
Upbeat caught up recently with Kris and Andrew to talk about the day of the earthquake, and how this 10-year anniversary tribute came about.
