Tim Finn, of Split Enz fame, has written an opera.
Ihitai 'Avei'a - Star Navigator tells of the complex and often confrontational relationship between Tahitian navigator Tupaia and Captain James Cook on board the Endeavour.
Tupaia is sung by Amitai Pati, and the apparition of his former love Purea by Natasha Wilson.
Natasha and Amitai talked to Upbeat about the opera, how Tim Finn has crossed over into the contemporary classical world, and about some of their upcoming projects.
