    Brought up in England's North-East tradition of sea shanties, border songs and clog dancing, sisters Rachel and Becky Unthank have been hailed as shining new lights on the UK folk scene. They describe their second album, The Bairns, as "transcendent and grounded music folded around unsentimental old, new and imaginatively borrowed stories of booze, brawls, abuse, loss, fear, infantile death, depravity and sorrow".
