    (1) Introduction

In light of centenary celebrations surrounding Stravinsky's most famous work, The Rite of Spring, we turn to a complementary theme: The Unknown Works of Stravinsky. With New Zealand musicologist Robin Maconie, author of Experiencing Stravinsky: A Listener's Companion (2013), we delve into the nooks and crannies of Stravinsky's creative output across all phases of his composing life. It's through these works we listen with fresh ears to the tactile sound world of Stravinsky, whose music is, in his words, "designed for small children and animals" (R Monday 7.00pm) (RNZ)
