The Samoan government is reportedly seeking the assistance of a forensic pathologist from New Zealand to determine the cause of death of a 22-year-old man who was found dead two weeks ago.
His name has not been released but police say the man was found in Tufuiopa village.
The Samoa Observer newspaper reports that a hospital doctor in Apia has confirmed that the victim died of massive head injuries but it was not clear how they were obtained.
The paper says the Samoan authorities have asked Auckland pathologist, Dr Timothy Koelmeyer, to help as he has done so in the past.
