The French Polynesian opposition Fetia Api party has issued a statement, saying it will contest next month's election with its own list.
This comes amid opposition calls to form a united list in a bid to unseat the dominant Tahoeraa Huiraatira Party.
The Fetia Api leader, Philip Schyle, says after several meetings it has been decided not to join the proposed coalition.
Electoral lists have to be submitted by late next week to the French high commission in Papeete.
