The government in American Samoa has reached a proposal with businessman Tom Drabble to lease part of the government-owned 182-room Rainmaker Hotel.
Governor Togiola Tulafono says the proposed lease with Drabble has been completed but now needs to be presented to the hotel board for review and approval.
He says once approved the government will make an official presentation to Drabble and hopefully it would follow with the commencement of work on the project.
Togiola says the government is anxious to go forward with this project and he is hopeful the board will meet soon to review Drabble's proposal.
Until the board gives its approval the government has declined to release details of the agreement.
