The wife of Fiji's former president, Adi Lady Lala Mara, has died just three months after her husband passed away in April.
Adi Lady Lala was one of Fiji's highest ranking chiefs and held the title of Roko Tui Dreketi of Burebasaga.
Radio Legend reports that she passed away at the Suva Private Hospital early this morning.
Adi Lady Lala was a prominent member of the Great Council of Chiefs and her new term had just been renewed.
She also played a major part in bringing indigenous women into the mainstream of national life.
Preparations are under way for Adi Lady Lala's funeral in accordance with traditional customs befitting her high rank and standing.
