Two senior ministers in the Papua New Guinea government, including the prime minister's son, have been referred for prosecution for alleged misconduct in office.
The two are the national planning minister, Arthur Somare, who is the son of the prime minister, Sir Michael Somare, and the health minister, Melchior Pep.
The Ombudsman's Commission referred them to the Public Prosecutor after they were found guilty of misconduct in office under provisions of the leadership code.
Mr Somare is alleged to have misspent a district support grant of almost 100,000 US dollars.
Mr Pep is alleged to have misappropriated public funds and breached Salaries and Remuneration Commission determinations.
