The Supreme Court in Samoa has dismissed an election petition by the former minister of police against the newly elected independent Member of Parliament for Faleata west constituency.
The outcome of the case has reconfirmed the victory of Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi, who was the former chief executive of the Airport Authority.
In the March election, he had polled 795 votes which was 165 more than the petitioner.
His rival had filed a petition alleging bribery and treating as well as corrupt practices by the Electoral office.
But the court has now dismissed the petition.
