The Samoan government has re-advertised the position of attorney general a week after an announcement was made over the new candidate for the job.
A report on government SBC TV says the cabinet sub-committee's appointment was not valid as because Luatutu Au'apa'au Andre Volentras, did not meet the selection criteria.
The report says all applicants must have practiced at the bar at least eight years to be qualified to for the post.
But a government statement says the decision to re-advertise the position is based on the withdrawal of the application of Attorney General, Brenda Heather Latu, for re-appointment.
The attorney general who announced her resignation last month was scheduled to leave office this Friday.
But Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, has extended the warrant of her appointment to November 3rd until a successful applicant is appointed.
