A former government minister in Samoa serving a life sentence for plotting to kill another cabinet minister has died.
Toi Aukuso Cain died of liver cancer over the weekend.
He had represented Faleata West constituency for twenty years before he was jointly charged with another former MP, Le'afa Vitale, in relation to the killing of the minister of works, Luagalau Leva'ula Kamu, in 1999.
The two remaining prisoners of the killing, Le'afa Vitale and his son Eletise Vitale continue to serve their life sentence in Samoa's main prison.
