The first Pacific Prosecutors Association has been officially launched.
The establishment of the association was initiated by the office of Samoa's Attorney General and was endorsed at the Pacific Prosecutors Conference in Brisbane Australia.
The Attorney General, Aumua Ming Leung Wai says the idea of an association for Pacific prosecutors was long overdue.
He says the association will open up a forum for prosecutors throughout the region to share their views on issues they face while carrying out their duties.
He says the challenges prosecutors experience include maintaining their independence and integrity.
