The District Court in Samoa has dismissed two count of threatening to kill made against the Associate Minister of Education Sports and Culture, Solamalemalo Keneti Sio, after a hearing this week.
The case has been dropped because the prosecution failed to prove the allegations that Mr Sio had made the threats against the complainant, a man from his village.
Of five prosecution witnesses only three gave evidence, including a man who's related to Mr Sio.
Several matais and untitled men from the village, Faleula, spoke in support of Mr Sio.
