The Japanese Embassy in Tonga is holding a week of mourning for people affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami.
The Prime Minister of Tonga, Lord Tu'ivakano says his sorrow and prayers are offered to the government and people of Japan.
He was the first to sign a condolence book opened yesterday at the Embassy and Tongans will be able to write messages of sympathy until March the 23rd.
The Embassy will also fly the Japanese flag at half mast during the mourning period.
