The U.S. Coast Guard has closed off the marina at Malaloa in American Samoa where an old fishing boat sank yesterday morning.
Coast Guard Lieutenant Steven Caskey says the area is off limits while investigations are underway in to how the vessel sank.
The whole area where the ship, Liliafao, went down has been boomed off to contain the spread of the uup 4 thousand litres of oil which spilled from the vessel.
Crews are to remove debris from the vessel before attempts are made to re-float it.
