The government of Vanuatu's Prime Minister Sato Kilman has defeated a motion of no-confidence tabled against him in parliament.
The motion, lodged by the opposition, was defeated 27 votes to 23 yesterday afternoon.
On Friday the opposition won a Supreme Court ruling allowing the vote after the government had claimed it was invalid.
The extra-ordinary parliamentary sitting began that afternoon, but a vote did not go ahead because most Opposition MPs boycotted - apparently because some of their members had not made it to Port Vila in time.
