A new police substation will be dedicated today in American Samoa, serving the large population on the far western side of the main island of Tutuila.
Samoa News reports the opening of the Leone police substation, has also resulted in the reshuffling of police personnel, some of whom are not pleased with the changes.
In a memo, Police Commissioner Tuaolo Fruean says the reshuffling was carefully sorted out to maintain balance, discipline, and supervision and this has led to the shifting of personnel from other substations to support the Leone sub station.
There are nine police officers assigned to the new substation, which was constructed with federal money.
