One policeman is dead, and another in hospital, with many more injured in separate attacks in Papua New Guinea at the weekend.
The Post Courier newspaper reports a senior constable in Mount Hagen who confronted a passenger bus that hit his vehicle on Saturday night, was brutally killed by the passengers.
Police raided two villages and arrested five men and a woman in relation to the death while the hunt for more suspects, including two women, continues.
They also destroyed trees and decorative palms that lined the city streets, spilled rubbish on the streets, while firing guns.
Three soldiers are recovering from bullet wounds from a separate incident in Port Moresby, where violent attackers looted shops and attacked both police and the soldiers with high-powered guns.
Police have assured the public that the situation in both Mt Hagen and Port Moresby are under control.
