Fiji Television has confirmed that it will split with its subsidiary, Sky Pacific, from July.
Fiji Broadcasting Corporation reports the company shareholders passed a resolution at a meeting in Suva yesterday.
The owner of Fiji TV, Fijian Holdings, wants to the two media groups to run their own affairs.
The Fijian Holdings CEO, Nouzab Fareed, told FBC they will begin work on making Sky Pacific a fully-licensed company.
Mr Fareed also confirms the Fiji TV Group will maintain ownership of Sky Pacific.
Fiji TV will focus on local programming and news content.
