Fiji's Constitutional Offices Commission has held its first meeting today under the chairmanship of prime minister Frank Bainimarama.

The Commission, which was set up according to the 2013 constitution, is made up of six people, including one person chosen by the opposition and two by the Prime Minister.
The Commission is tasked with giving advice to the president to help appoint office holders, such as the military commander, the police commissioner, the electoral commission and the Reserve Bank governor.
One of the first appointments is expected to be the members of Public Service Commission and is due to hold its next meeting on the 8th of May.
The Constitutional Offices Commission:
- Chair: Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama
- Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum
- Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa
- Sanjay Kaba, who was appointed by the Prime Minister
- Ajith Kodagoda, who was appointed by the Prime Minister
- Richard Naidu, who was appointed by the Opposition leader
