Amini Fonua won his second gold medal at the Pacific Games in Port Moresby last night and hopes his performances will one day be emulated by the next generation of Tongan swimmers.

The 25 year old fended off two Tahitians to win the 50m breaststroke title, having prevailed over 100m two days earlier.
Amini Fonua is Tonga's only medal winner after six days of the Pacific Games but he hopes with the Kingdom hosting the Games in 2019, that will lead to more success.
"Tonga is in the exact same position where we don't have a pool and I knew that Port Moresby and Papua New Guinea didn't have a pool a few years ago so it has a lot of hope for the Pacific nations and, hopefully, if we can get some facilities like this everywhere then maybe we can start breeding some champions."
The swimming competition in Papua New Guinea runs for two more days.
