The Cook Islands governing political party has re-elected Henry Puna as its leader
The prime minister faced a leadership challenge at the Cook Islands Party's conference by his deputy Teariki Heather.
Radio New Zealand's correspondent in Rarotonga says the party looked strong and united despite Mr Heather's challenge.
Mr Puna has confirmed Mr Heather will remain deputy prime minister.
