A powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian region of Papua this morning.
The undersea quake hit at a depth of 64 kilometres at about 1 o'clock this morning, 30 kilometres off the coast of Sorong.
No tsunami warning was issued and there have so far been no reports of damage.
