The Opposition Shadow Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations says the Fiji government needs to end the long-running standoff over labour rights.

Fiji has continually failed to submit an International Labour Organisation-required report because unions say the government is infringing on workers' rights.
The ILO is now considering sending a tripartite mission to Fiji.
The mission is seen as an attempt to avoid a Commission of Inquiry which both sides have said would have a negative impact on Fiji's industry and economy.
Ratu Sela Nanovo says Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama needs to listen to union concerns.
"If he would just allow the unions to be given what they want then everything will be back to normal. It is not the unions holding the government to ransom. It's the government holding Fiji to ransom."
