About 10 young people detained at the Juvenile Detention Center in Tafuna in American Samoa have been moved out because of a rat infestation.
The detainees are now being held at the Faga'itua Substation.
The acting commissioner of Public Safety, Vaimaga Maiava, says a contractor is working to get rid of the rats while the facility is closed.
He says they hope to re-open it at the end of the week.
A number of government facilities have been shut by rat infestation in recent times, including the Customs Office and the Executive Office building.
