Fiji's opposition leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa, says she is looking at the option of calling a Great Council of Chiefs meeting to discuss ways to give land to climate refugees.
According to Fiji Village, Ro Teimumu says while she has some reservations, she welcomes the agreement of the Conference of Parties in Paris.
She says implementation of the agreement is now needed and the pressing local issues of pollution should be tackled immediately.
Ro Teimumu says Fiji should also allocate land specifically developed and financed for climate refugees, and these parcels of land should not be sold or leased.
She says in her traditional capacity, she will now look into the option of calling the Great Council of Chiefs to meet to discuss the issue.
