The party of the disgraced former French Polynesian president Gaston Flosse has again hit out at the president over the Mahana Beach resort project, which is estimated to cost in excess of two billion US dollars.

The Tahoeraa Huiraatira has issued a statement accusing Edouard Fritch of being incapable of managing the project on Tahiti that has been touted as instrumental to revive the territory's economy.
The project was initiated by Flosse before he was forced to quit office over a corruption conviction in 2014.
Last month, Mr Fritch's government signed an MOU with a Chinese consortium to build the complex by 2022.
Flosse's party has criticised the deal, saying time has been lost as work won't start before next year, which makes Mr Fritch responsible for the continuing crisis.
It says the Mahana Beach resort has to be accompanied by other developments on Moorea to turn tourism into a sustainable economic base.
