The mission to review obstacles to a required joint implementation plan comes after the country's unions refused to sign a plan over concerns the government was infringing rights.
The Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the government is welcoming the mission, as economic growth, creating jobs and reducing poverty are high priorities.
He says the law is clear that workers can join a trade union, and employees have a right to go on strike.
He says some occupations in Fiji are still being neglected by trade unions, and the government is working to ensure workers' rights are protected.
