Tropical cyclone Winson continues to pass through the Pacific and is expected to pass close to the Vanuatu islands of Tanna, Erromango and Aneityum.
A short time ago, Winston was located near 18.1 degrees south, 171.5 east, about 270 kilometres east-northeast of Erromango.
It is moving south at 13 kilometres an hour and intensifying with winds of up to 120 kilometres an hour at its centre.
Strong gale force winds are expected over Tafea province over the next six to 12 hours.
Earlier flood and rain warnings for Fiji have now been lifted.
Meanwhile, Cyclone Tatiana is moving east-southeast in the central Coral Sea and on its current track is expected to pass to the west of New Caledonia on Saturday morning.
