The Republican Party of American Samoa caucus has endorsed the party's nine delegates going to the National Republican Convention in Cleveland in July for the selection of the Party's candidate for the US presidential race.
The Republican Party of American Samoa caucus endorsed late yesterday afternoon the party's nine delegates going to the National Republican Convention in Cleveland in July for the selection of the Party's candidate for the US presidential race in November.
However, Congresswoman Aumua Amata Radewagen, who is also the Party's National Committee woman told caucus attendance of more than 200 that, between now and July, the delegates will be talking to Party members on how the territory's delegation should vote in Cleveland.
Local Party chairman Utu Abe Malae says American Samoa's delegates could change the outcome of the presidential selection process in Cleveland, especially if none of the three candidates reaches 1,237 votes from all delegates in order to be a candidate.

Supporters of Republican party candidate Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich addressed the caucus as to the reason their candidate should get the support of the Party's nine delegates.
Our correspondent said as the American Samoa delegates uncommitted, the presidential candidates and their representatives may go after them for their support.
