Fiji's Registrar of Political Parties has suspended the One Fiji Party and the People's Democratic Party for 30 days with immediate effect for contravening the Political Parties Decree.
The step was taken because the two parties, which have no seats in parliament, failed to submit their yearly declaration of assets, liabilities and funds before the end of December.
Both parties have 60 days to remedy the breach or face deregistration.
During this period of suspension, the Fiji One Party and the People's Democratic party cannot operate, function represent or hold themselves out to be political partikes.
Earlier this year, the Registrar briefly suspended the opposition National Federation Party for three weeks in a dispute over the certification of the accountant who audited the NFP return.
