The student body met last week to discuss their concerns about a growing list of governance issues around Peter O'Neill and his government.

The students have called on Mr O'Neill to step aside to face corruption allegations, and as a consequence decided to boycott classes.

The Student Representative Council this morning issued a notice to inform the entire student body that it is suspending classes for this week.

The University of PNG's Student Representative Council informed the entire student body that it decided to suspend classes for the week, Monday 2 May.
