Only two overseas companies have submitted offers in response to the request for proposals for the development of the old Rainmaker hotel site in American Samoa.

The deadline for submissions was February 29.
Our correspondent said this was the second time the request for proposals was advertised.
The companies which submitted proposals were Destination Hotel Partners LLC & Integrated Engineered Energy Solutions LLC and Lively Architects.
Lively Architects is the Honolulu based company that designed the Centennial Building.
Destination Hotel Partner LLC and Integrate Engineered Energy Solutions is based in New York City.
The Chief Procurement Officer said a Source Evaluation Board was meeting to review the submitted proposals.
According to the scope of work for the hotel, developers would build a 250 room hotel that would have a three-and-a-half star rating at the site where the old Rainmaker Hotel once stood in Utulei.
The Rainmaker Hotel was demolished last year after sitting deserted for more than a decade.
