The search for a new police commander in Vanuatu has been delayed for at least another month.
The role, which has been filled on a temporary basis for the past two years, is to be re-advertised after the government removed the head of the Police Service Commission, which sifts through the applications and makes the appointment.
The chair of the Commission, Ari Jack Marikempo, was removed over a conviction dating back to the early 2000s.
He has been replaced by a former Mobile Force commander, Willie Vira.
