The Jakarta Post reports four others were injured in the incident in Jayapura regency.
The trees fell after a landslide in Bulebe village, in the early hours of Friday, when heavy rains poured over the regency.
Bulebe is home to a traditional gold mine, and there are about 15 huts near the mine where workers live.
