A fight at the annual general meeting of Fiji's biggest Hindu organisation, Sangam, was broken up by police.
The meeting was held in Nadi yesterday and attended by various factions of the organisation which run schools and other charitable projects.
The official statement from Sangam said only five disgruntled members disrupted the meeting and the meeting was called off according to police instructions.
It said candidates who were unopposed were later returned to office as elected office holders including Nadi businessman Damend Goundar as the President.
However, the group will need to reconvene to decide on three vacant positions.
