Cook Islanders are being warned by the national met service to listen for weather warnings as the region moves deeper into the cyclone season.
Met director Arona Ngari says a low pressure trough currently affecting the Cooks Islands is expected to continue through until Christmas posing a flood risk to some areas.
Mr Ngari said there was also a possibility of the low becoming a tropical depression and eventually developing into a cyclone.
He urged the public to listen out for and heed any weather warnings
Arona Ngari said CIMS also has a website met.gov.ck that the public can obtain information from as well as a Facebook page @cookislands.meteorological that always has the latest weather updates.
