Power cut to PNG government

Power has been cut to the Central Government Building in Papua New Guinea's capital because of overdue electricity bills.

According to the newspaper, The National, a generator is now being used to supply power to the building.

PNG Power Limited is reportedly owed more than $US300,000.

The Personnel Management department says there have been cash flow problems and talks have been held with PNG Power to pay the bills incrementally.
