Rain warning issued for New Caledonia

An orange alert has been issued in New Caledonia for unusually heavy rain in the south of the main island.

A low pressure is affecting the entire territory and a rain warning is in force for the rest of the territory, including the Loyalty Islands.

Last week, rain caused major disruptions along the east coast.

In November, rain triggered huge landslides, killing eight people.
