American Samoa is expecting to develop and grow trade in goods with the launching of direct flights from Pago Pago to Tonga.

Samoa based Talofa Airways has started twice weekly flights between Pago Pago and Tonga's capital, Nuku'alofa.
American Samoa Commerce Department director, Keniseli Lafaele said the flights are a significant opportunity for local businesses.
