A French cyclist has been killed in the Tour of New Caledonia.
Mathieu Riebel died instantly when he crashed into an oncoming ambulance on a descent near Noumea.
Reports say he was going at about 80 kilometres an hour.
Another rider Erwan Brenterch also crashed and suffered a broken leg.
20-year old Riebel had won a junior national title in France.
