The Fiji women's sevens team is looking to pick up where they left off as the new World Series kicks off in Dubai.

The Fijiana finished fourth last season in their sophomore campaign, making the Cup quarter finals or better in five of six tournaments.

Coach Iliesa Tanivula said the aim going forward was to qualify for the Cup semi finals on a regular basis and to challenge the likes of New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

The team finished third at the Oceania 7s earlier this month, behind World Series champions New Zealand and Olympic gold medalists Australia, and start the new season tonight in Dubai with pool matches against Ireland, Spain and Canada.
